The Carriage
Similar to standard forklifts, the lifting attachment can be tilted from its horizontal position to forwards and backwards. The actual amount of tilt possible totally exceeds that of vertical mast forklifts. There is a large variety of available lifting attachments, and this positioning ability makes them as efficient as possible.
Nearly all telehandlers could tilt forward to a point where the carriage is actually parallel with the ground believe it or not! Additionally, many units offer rotating carriages too. This allows the operator to adjust the lifting attachment radially. This translates to the load being capable of being tilted backwards and forwards, as well as side to side.
Load Capacity
Telehandlers have a load capacity rather similar to that of the vertical mast unit. The unit's overall capacity will be dependent on things such as: boom angle and extension, whether the unit is lifting on rubber tires or on outriggers, and the amount of boom transaction deployed, if this is applicable. In addition, which lifting attachment plays a very important part, as does the wind, the grade the machinery is operating on and so on. All of these specifics could be changing on a regular basis and this gives the operator a lot more information to take into account.
Telehandlers will often have some different load charts available to them, giving them a good reference they could utilize to determine a particular lift's load capacity. Depending upon the unit in particular and the configuration of the boom, the load capacity could differ by thousands of pounds all together.
