Telescopic lift trucks
Telescopic forklift models are outfitted with a pronged lift on an arm that extends over the top of the truck providing versatility and great height. The arm, or crane, is known as a telescopic boom. The boom allows the individual utilizing it to maintain a high degree of control while lifting the load to great heights. Standard lift trucks could not move the cargo away from and towards the forklift cab, whereas a telescopic forklift allows that movement. The telescopic forklift is normally used in construction and agriculture. It is recommended for applications where greater control and lift is required.
In situations needing high volume carton handling, hydraulic attachments known as forklift carton clamp attachments are recommended. The attachment has arm pads with four way reversible rubber linings which allow the operator to use uniform clamping force when lifting a load. It is available with a backrest which protects the cargo from damage.
A sleep sheet lift truck would usually use a slip sheet attachment for storing systems that don't utilize pallets. The attachment clamps onto the slip sheet and pulls it onto the forklift forks. This kind of system is handy for intra-corporate deliveries and for overseas shipments.
A lift platform that is designed to hoist workers is known as a Man Basket. It attaches to the forks on the forklift and a strap or chain is utilized to attach the basket to the forklift carriage. The platform has railings to protect the staff from falling to the ground. Brackets on the platform are used for fastening the worker's safety harness.
