Forklifts are categorized into the following types based on the structure:



Standard Trucks: The standard lift truck is a tough and durable unit and the most frequently used forklift inside factories. Standard trucks can typically lift weights between 3,000 pounds to 4,000 pounds and their blades can lift cargo up to a height of 20 feet.



Reach Truck: The reach truck or narrow aisle forklift are generally smaller, more maneuverable and runs mostly on electricity. These kinds of machinery are specially made for pallet storage. They are capable of carrying loads up to 40 feet in height. Order Selector: Very narrow aisle forklifts or order selectors could be used to transport racked loads which are much smaller than pallet size. Order Selectors are different in that they can raise both the load and the truck driver as high as 40 feet.



Motorized Pallet Trucks: Motorized Pallet Trucks are also known as riders, walkies and walkie riders. These models are aptly named because of the fact that the driver is not required to sit in the machinery to be able to operate it. Instead, the driver walks beside the truck as it transports the cargo.



Swing Mast Trucks: The swing mast truck to standard models of trucks. These are machines with a narrow aisle and have masts which could swing up to 90 degrees, only in one direction.



Turret Trucks: The turret truck has been designed to operate in very narrow aisles. Like an Order Selector, they could lift the load and the driver. In addition, these types of trucks are capable of swinging their forks 90 degree on each side.
